Alex Kelly is an award winning filmmaker and communications strategist with a keen interest in social justice based between Alice Springs, Australia and New York, USA.
Alex is an Impact Producer on Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein’s project This Changes Everything (2015) and is currently producing the documentary film No Man Is An Island with director Gabrielle Brady. She also works as a consultant to the Bertha Foundation on the development of a global activist training portfolio.
Alex has worked on a range of roles on documentary films including; producing Nothing Rhymes with Ngapartji,(2010) production managing Coniston: Telling it True (2011) and directing Queen of the Desert (2012).
In 2009 Alex was awarded the Australia Council for the Arts Kirk Robson Award and in 2011 the Screen Territory Bob Plasto Award. In 2013 Alex undertook a Churchill Fellowship looking at models for social change documentary impact and engagement in UK, Canada and USA.
